You hit the nail on the head with "I don't think MOST guys can give up feeding their sex drive". Obviously you believe some can then. If any can, then arguments comparing it to food are ridiculous, food being essential to life and sex, by your own reasoning, not so.

As to mastery, I disagree with you 100%. If you can master something, then fine, if you can't, it's sinful. Giving up is the true measure of mastery. Mastery is "I am in control", or should we just go down the self-deluding drug-addict's road of "I could give it up... if I wanted to..."

Well honestly, if I knew that I'd be completely mercenary and sell the solution at every church from here to Shanghai, making several gazillion on the way. (Though you should know that it ain't just BLs who have this dilemma - in my counselling experience very few don't, including many "red blooded heterosexuals")
