Your question specifically was, "How does one get through life with this burden/situation". Another poster replied that it is never easy, just sometimes less difficult. To this is say "amen". How I wish I had an easy answer, but I do not. The best answer I have yet found is:

"If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, of all men we are most to be pitied". - 1 Corinthians 15:19 NASB

I personally have full hope and assurance that once I'm glorified with Christ I will be saved from the very presence of my sin. Until then:

"And He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness' Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB

The single most grievous part to me is that neither he world in general nor the church in specific have the will, the desire nor the love and care to allow a BL to live a normal life while they work through this issue. The church could offer so much, but she is either ill equipped or unwilling, leaving a BL to suffer in silence. The church, like the world she says she does not wish to be like, is happiest in willful and blissful ignorance. Thank our Lord that He will never leave us or forsake us.

I wish I had someone who has experienced what I've experienced whom I could talk with in person and lean upon on an ongoing basis for a lifetime, but I have yet to find them. I have been praying that such a person the Lord will provide. Until then, I must lean wholly on my Lord.
