Yes, I've struggled with understanding this dilemma as well. As Christians we know that heterosexual marriage is the norm and is the only sexual fulfillment sanctioned by God. However for those who are absent heterosexual desires, whether BL or gay or bi, should they marry in faith?
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 I can clearly see that you hope for deliverance. We walk by faith and not by sight, but how do we differentiate between just pretending as opposed to genuinely walking in faith? If I were advising someone who was in your position when you were 19 years old how would I advise them? Should they disclose to their prospective mate their struggles and almost certainly eliminate 99.999% of their prospects for marriage? Should they only consider marrying someone of the opposite sex who likewise struggles? I wish I knew the answers. What are your thoughts? |
