It may be disturbing that some people are sexually interested in young boys and I don't defend it as being an appropriate way to feel, but it is an issue some people have to face whether they like it or not. Sexual attraction is not a choice. God tells us to keep our thoughts pure but to a person who's thoughts have always been on the good side it is hard to understand temptation that others face. We can't/don't say oh look at that boy, i want to be sexually excited when I see him! We can't really be judgemental of those in that less fortunate position just because we are "high and dry" on our little pedestals, so to speak. Even though people in that position may choose to deny themselves of satisfying those urges, the feelings are still there and can cause a great deal grief and shame. It's disappointing that the government is so choosy when selecting who it thinks is 'worthy' of help. People addicted to illegal drugs can opt for treatment and rehab and are able to be supported by those who've been in the same difficult situation, and they get treated with care, yet people sexually addicted to young boys or girls who want to change their lifestyle are not offered any help for their problems, they are immediately judged as sick and twisted people who don't deserve any compassion. (It seems to me that you'll get in jail faster for a few nude pics on your computer than if you've got a body in your attic.) I have way too many friends (nearly all of them) who were sexually abused when they were young by people I must admit I wish were dead, and I would be the last one to support one's lust for an innocent child... but I DO believe everyone is a human being and a child of God, and we should love EVERYONE as Jesus has commanded us, in spite of their shortcomings being different than our own. (Remember Jesus made friends with the sinners because those were the people who needed him the most.)
