Examine the official websites for all of the ex-gay ministries, or simply call them up and talk with them yourself and you will find the same thing in each of them. Their definition for ex-gay differs from the common definition outside of these ministries. So, all of those people claiming to be ex-gay are claiming to be something that is only called "ex-gay" in their circles but to everyone else is known as "gay" or at best "celibate gay" or "non practicing gay". I don't have to dispute them, I just have to look up what "ex-gay" means to these groups and in one fell swoop I can dismiss everyone who claims to be "ex-gay" according to their deceptive defnition.

To continue with the example I used before; suppose there are groups who claim to be riders of the purple unicorns. If I examine these groups and find that their definition of purple unicorn is what the rest of the world calls a black horse, then I don't have to individually disprove every person in those groups. I can simply say, "that's nice, but to the rest of us, those are not purple unicorns, they are black horses. Purple unicorns, do not exist".
