And yet another great movie...

Alright, I know what some of you are probably thinking..."Is that all Chris does, just sit around and watch movies all the time?" Well...yea it is. No, not really. I do other things like I just bought a new camera and have been getting back into photography lately. But yes I DO watch a lot of movies (when I'm not working to make enough money to pay the bills so I CAN watch movies!). I love movies about boys (suprise suprise!)and when I see something worth passing on to all of you, I like to let all of you know about it. Boy did I see something good last night. I highly recomend this one my friends.

It's called "The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros". It's a foreign movie, unless you happen to live in the Phillipines, and it takes place on the gritty streets of Manila. It is about a young 12 year old boy named Maximo who lives with his father and two older brothers. The boy is obviously gay as he is quite effeminate, but his brothers and father love him dearly. He has dropped out of school so he can take care of them while they spend thier time trying to make a living by stealing and reselling cell phones. Then all of a sudden a monkey wrench is thrown into thier collective lives when Maxi falls in love with a young police officer who is new to the nieghborhood.

This is a wonderful and honest movie about the most beautiful and lovable gay 12 year old boy you will ever see. I fell in love with Maxi right from the very beginning of the movie and was moved to tears many times durring the thing. I am willing to bet that anyone here who sees this film will wind up falling in love with him. Not only is he physicaly beautiful, he will win you over with his warm personality and loving spirit. I think Nathan Lopez (the young actor who played Maximo) deserves an Oscar for this performance! In fact, all of the actors in this movie were great.

The story is realistic, although I'm still not 100 percent satisfied with part of the ending but it's still very good. This is a movie that looks so real that you forget it's fiction. It is subtitled but please don't let that keep you from checking it out. This one is a true jem. I give it my highest rating!
