Thank you for confirming what I have been thinking all along. You are right about me not knowing her and not knowing what kind of situation I might be getting myself into if I act too quickly. I know that some of the more qualified people of our church are already involved with her. Some of our people work at the Social Services office. But I DO know of at least one way I might be able to help her out. I am going to be buying a new mattress for my bed real soon (my poor back really needs it!) but my old mattress is only 3 years old and in fairly good shape yet. So, if she wants it, she can have it for free. I might actually have a few more household items I can give to them and I think I know a few places I can look for bargains for them. That's one way I can help out and yet not get too involved too quickly.
