for now I agree with your pastor... don't get too involved.

Sometimes women come to church and they can be a real handful. You don't know what kind of neurotic problems she has... and what you could get dragged into.

As tempting as it may be to help the kids... make sure their mum isn't Senorita Psychopath first.

Take some time... get to know them. If they are stable... then you may be able to do some good for them. If not then they'll need more qualified help than what you could manage.
