As a teacher myself, I suggest that unless you have learned how to deal gracefully with the discipline of the children, you should not be their teacher for an hour and a half every day. You won't be able to handle it, and it will end the same as it had before: with your having to leave in shame. If you take the job that you can actually do, and still enjoy even though it doesn't involve those beautiful boys, you can actually make it work for the long(er) term.

I'd also suggest against hoping for one of those maybes, and stay with the certain one at the university. Survival in the long term needs some level of stability, and drawing off your investments is not going to really keep you going the way you want.
