If you want the preachy answer to the rights and wrongs of jacking off...
"All things are permissable for me but not everything is beneficial" "All things are permissable for me but I will not be mastered by anything" SO: It is permitted. Period. It is up to you to say if it's beneficial. It probably is as a release, although the accompanying fantasy is unlikely to give you any benefits. Paul says I WILL not be mastered by anything. Not I mustn't, Not I shouldn't but I will not. He is expressing his determination that however strong the pull of the flesh (sorry, couldn't resist that one), he has decided that he won't let it master him. Personally, I think Dakota is pretty near bang on the money with his examining your motivation comments. Is it 'necessary' or just something to do occasionally, in other words it's permissable to you but is it mastering you? Finally, DON'T be fooled into thinking that you can't live without it. People can. Whether you should or not though, or should have to, is another matter. Jesus may have gone 33 years without it (I defy anyone to argue that Jesus had the occasional one off the wrist to relieve his tensions) but that doesn't necessarily mean you should. Either way, good luck, or whatever the appropriate Christian alternative to luck is. EMPIRE |
