The Apostles' Creed is used often when you don't know who experienced your audience is in litugical prayers and faith statements (most of my Baptist friends have never heard the Nicean Creed, and are both intrigued and baffled by it) simply because it is shorter.
As to what the website is saying, please read the study paper. They aren't just saying that there's nothing wrong with homosexuality, they are saying that the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality nor its practice is the right context. And the study paper under "Bible & Homosexuality" gives a very strong Biblical theological argument, that none of the hardline conservative theologians I have brought it to have been able to attack.
