even if nothing comes of it now weeks, months, or even years later someone could say you did something you did not. You would have truth on your side but in the court of law truth does not matter as much as what you can prove. You obviously do not have to follow my advice but it just may save your butt later.

Look into your local laws but I believe your boss cannot give you a bad reference if you are found not guilty. If this is the case you have a lot less to worry about in finding a new job as a reference can make all the difference.

Even if you cannot get a bad official reference I would apply for childcare jobs as far from this place as you can afford to go. You don't want to find out that someone from your old job knows someone from the new one and will start things all over.
