Oh, and another thing about the SCA:
The events tend to have large numbers of people in attendance, ranging from 100 to 16,000 (Pennsic War) and conditions are such that *no-one* could ever accuse you of being alone with a boy in some innapropriate manner. Very safe, despite being a very open and trusting group.
