It's not that you missed anything, it's that you jumped to incorrect conclusions based on assumptions made without any logical basis. a common ex-gay fallacy Something is only fallacious if it breaks the rules of logic. Which rule of logic does this break? It appears to be logical to me. given that: All people are created by God, and some people are called to be celibate, and God does not approve of sexual expressions outside of heterosexual marriage, and God has created some people to be other than heteroseuxal, it follows that those people created with a different sexuality are called to celibacy. (in mathematical terms, there is no other value for the letter x, where x is sexual expression, that would satisfy the equation.) This is logical. Now, you can argue that one of those elements is untrue, making the statement incorrect, but not that is fallacious. |
