No, I have never masturbated with a blank mind, that is my point. Masturbation is really the physical action/reaction to lust. Just because it is not doable practically to seperate the two does not take away the sin aspect. It is possible not to masturbate, or at least to try to not do it, and that is what the true christian will try to do. I have heard the argument that " I have to masturbate to keep from doing the real thing". Well, that is bs because the hidden assertion in that statement is that somehow one is incapable of controlling their urges and for most people that is not true. I mean, there are sex addicts out there, but there is treatment even for that. There is this kind of thing in the gay community as well, and it kind of comes down to whether a person is going to obey God or twist or conform scripture, definitions, etc. to ease their own mind. Something else to keep in mind....this is a very common problem and it is not bad at all to confess/acknowledge sin, nor does it have to involve shame. Confession subjects our actions to the Judgement and mercy of God, and thank goodness He is merciful and does forgive us if we have the right attitude about it and attempt to change.
