I don't think you can turn a boy gay by giving him affection that he initiates.

I think its perfectly normal for boys to be affectionate with adults who show any care for them. My own experience with boys (having done scouting, child care and had kids of my own) tells me this kind of affection from young ones is very common.

Boys love a cuddle... at 7 they NEED it. Eventually they grow out of the need (somewhere around puberty) and stop initiating it so much (though my older teens still want to cuddle from time to time).

The thing is to have healthy boundaries when it comes to the private parts. I've had boys being affectionate try and "touch" where they shouldn't. You just have to tell them that it's not appropriate and move them into a more appropriate position.

I think if your own motivation is honestly to show genuine non sexual affection to a boy then you have nothing to worry about.
