You may want to revise point 1 in the light of Diddy's post... but here are some of mine.

3. Lead the boy. Model manhood for him. Show him how to be strong and brave and stand on his own feet.

4. Teach him the word of God. Straight from the Scriputres and from your own example.

5. Let him know he is much loved. Communicate love to him in touch, in time, in words, in gifts and in service.

6. Respect him and expect him to respect himself and others.

7. Treasure every moment, both of your own life and of his. You never know how much time you have together... don't waste a bit of it.
