Hey Qwerty!
I've been quite the fan of your posts so far and have no reason to suspect anything bad in your meaning or anything. But even though I think you meant fine, you have to be careful with your phrasing marc, why are you at a Christian based forum if you are so anti-christian? That could be misinterpreted as a hint for him to leave. A "what are you doing here. you don't belong" type of thing. I don't think that that was what it was, but it is important to be careful. Also, I think in this, I would like to take Marc's side. While I don't agree with many of marc's views or curt comments, I believe he has the right to believe exactly what he wants - without unnecessary pressure from others. Marc has already been gone after by Cat, CLS and now Youth, Kristian and You (Qwerty). I'm not saying that this is initially bad - it is a very good thing to share the Good News with others. But there is also a point where this chastisement has a VERY negative effect. Marc has stated that he just wants to be here not for the Christian atmosphere, but for its many other aspects. And if you read the board info, members by no means need to be Christian to use this board. Any form of evangelism MUST BE MUTUAL for it to be effective! How effective was forcing Christianity on the natives back in the day? Ya. If Marc doesn't want it, there is no reason to push him. Rather, we can SHOW him some of the benefits of believing in God and how real He may be. But to him, that may just be an opinion, and thats ok until there is someone with a NEW approach (as what we are doing now clearly ISN'T working!) Oh, and I won't even get into Youth's completely negative approach. Forget being a good Christian for a moment - what about simply being a good person (and the two are NOT essentially tied, by the way). Man Youth, if you are trying to show people what it is to be a Christian, sometimes I'm ashamed to be called a Christian ... Anyways, lets just take it easy for a bit. Marc is a member of this board and should be treated with the same rights as everyone else, including freedom of belief. He can't tell us not to pray, so we shouldn't be forcing him to pray (and we've pretty much exhausted the "suggestion" aspect of that). Have a great evening/weekend! Talk to you soon! Graces of God, Deliverance ![]() |
