The definition of pedophile is not someone who has commited an offense, but the way the word is used in media it sounds like that. A pedophile is someone who is attracted to children. The definition of a child is irrelevant, one would know whether or not he or she is attracted to a child.

And the definition of gay is someone attracted to the same sex. You don't have to commit a gay act to be considered gay.

If you are attracted to young children, then you are a pedophile by definition, but not necessarily by the world's view.

By difinition I am a boylover and a pedophile. By media view, I am not a pedophile, but I am a boylover.
