I don't think I've every been that close to a best friend.

I was completely attached to a friend once though. But it was an obsession, I couldn't stand not seeing him. Each day that went by without seeing him felt like a waste to me. I finally got over it, after wasting 2 years of my life.

If it was me, I would say I was obsessed with the friend. But you aren't me, so I don't know.
