Dear all, I am so grateful for all of your supportive messages: Chris, Cat, Godspell, also Youth and herr_fish. It is good to feel welcome. THANKS. Of course, it would be so much better if we could all talk in person but.... we have to make do.
Is anyone here in the same hemisphere as me ie the southern hemisphere? I would presume you are all or mostly in the U.S. but I could be wrong. By the way, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the dynamics of love and obsession so I might end up sharing some of them with you. I'm also interested in personality types/temperaments, and I think that those who especially like the company of children might have a trait in common, like sensitivity, as opposed to that tough-spirited trait you find in those who can let things pass over them easily, and can just by an act of will decide not to let something affect them. Beauty can rebound off them, sorta...? As for me, I am starting to practice more detachment from things and people. That doesn't mean being distant or hard or a hermit, it just means that you relate from a different position. Its to do with letting God complete you as a man from within, and from there relating to others not out of neediness but out of fullness. I would also be interested, if anyone is willing to share, in their experiences of growing up at home, relating to peers etc, and whether that has any relation to their feelings toward boys. At the moment I have Bertil Guver holding a teddy bear on my computer screen, he is so lovely! But I am starting to feel more peaceful about it. Ie, more complete in myself. Heaps of love Bertil |
