Everyone's Hero

Now here is a movie I had to watch two times in a row. It's an animated film called "Everyone's Hero" and if you haven't seen it, then drop what your doing right now and run right out and rent it! This movie has got to be on the Boylover's top 100 must see movie list. Yes it is animated, but don't let that fool you, you will definately fall in love with the main character; a ten year old boy who just LOVES baseball. His name is (get this) "Yankee", and he is befriended by a talking baseball and a talking bat. Sounds goofy, right? Well, don't be put off at all because this film is definately not goofy. It's actually a story of special relationships and the love of friends and a boy's love for his father. I was in tears almost right after the beginning credits (although I do tend to tear up easily...I'm glad I live alone...)

The musical score is very special in this one. There is a scene where the boy's dad lets him walk through the New York Yankees' locker room and the song that plays durring that scene is so touching. It's about the special love a boy has for his father (or older friend...it really dosen't specify that it means "father"). I had to play that scene over and over again, and when I did I couldn't help but think about my "L" and all the great times we had. Again, of course, I was in tears.

This movie takes place durring the time when Babe Ruth was famous. I'm not much of a Baseball nut, so I'm guessing the 1920's maybe? Anyway, the animation is beautifully done and it actually looks kind of like poster artwork from that era.

This is a very special film indeed and I give it a big, high-five rating! Even if you aren't a big fan of animated movies, you will dig this one. Get it, watch it, and enjoy!
