Actually the tune for "Be Thou My Vision" and conversely "Lord of All Hopefullness" is older than either song, as it is like many other wonderful Christian songs, stolen from secular folk songs of the area. I don't know off the top of my head what the original song was, but I have heard it before. Of course, most Celtic music borrows older tunes over and over and over again anyway: that way people could make new music for old dances, and do so before music was able to be written down (sorcery!).
