In the original Greek text, the word 'eunouchos' is used, so the translations are correct in their use of eunuch. Eunouchos has a literal meaning of castration, but it also was used figuratively for those who lived a celibate lifestyle, or were impotent.

This also coincides with your wikipedia article, as it too, mentions the figurative meaning for eunuch.

It is true, not everyone is cut out for marriage. Ask many on this board for have forsworn sex entirely, for they are truly eunuchs for Christ. If it were that I was strong enough to follow in their footsteps. I am not strong enough. I am what Paul means when he wrote 1 Corinthians 7:9 "But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

Except, I am married, but I do not get the support, physical or emotional, that I crave. So it drives me batty, and I keep turning back to porn as an escape.
