Guys may I encourage peace here.
jd420's post was a reasonable reflection on what Nash wrote about what he could have been. I don't think Nash was saying he was a child rapist at heart. He just realised that the consequences of having sex with kids can be devestating for the child and he's glad he never did it. I think I know how Nash feels. I would never want to hurt a child. But I wonder if I pursued some of my sexual fantasies if I really would be a monster. I think jd420 is so self accepting (which is a good thing) that he falls amongst those who refuse to see themselves as monstors. Good for you jd420! There is a desire out there to make us all into monstors and sometimes we buy into it. I think Nash was doing this in his post on working with kids. He wasn't saying he was a child rapist at heart but he seemed to be buying into the idea that he might be one if he followed his fantasies. If you ask me jd420 was actually supporting Nash! Using his dry sarcastic wit to expose the lie Nash was leaning towards. The lie that says, just because we are attracted to kids that we are monstors. Nash, you haven't hurt kids. You aren't a monstor. Your testimony is one of helping them. Seeing the results of sexual abuse you were challenged to love kids more. A monstor just would have taken advantage of them when they were down. Please, read the posts carefully. I really don't think jd420 was attacking you. I'm sad that this thing has upset you... but I really don't think he did anything worthy of apoligizing for. After working with abused kids I can understand why Nash would find it offensive to be labeled a rapist... but in your own words Nash you were basically accusing yourself of it.... at least of being capable of it on some level. I'm glad that jd420 exposed it and I'm even glader that Nash relised that HE WASN'T ONE! Peace again to you brothers. Cat. ![]() |
