Hello All,
I wanted to do this post to explain what working with youth means to me, and to also ask others how it means to them as well. I know alot of us here do work with youth, or those who do not, wish to. Myself, with the different kinds of jobs have been working with youth the past 7 years or so. Presently i have been working at a daycare center for the last 1.5 years. Though it is great being with and around these young boys, i find it not as fulfilling as my other job. I use to be a manager of a boys group home shelter. I was the manager for almost 3 years until the agency closed. I was in care of eight boys between the ages of 5-12 years old. These boys were there because they were abused, neglected or abandoned. Over half were there for being sexually abused. Even though i am a BL, and have sexual thoughts about boys, but actually seeing them in person after they have been abused and placed in my shelter, the thought of that sexual lust goes away, and the caring and loving kicks in. Just seeing the hurt these boys are going through after what has happened to them. I think less of myself for having those lustful thoughts and desires. In my lustfull dreams and fantasy's,i never thought of what happens after that. Only the now. But now i have seen what happens after. I have gotten very angry at the people who have abused these boys. A long time ago, one of those people could have been me. For those who work with youth, who still have the desire and lust, try working with the youth who have been through it. You will be changed. I know a lot of us work with youth. Can i ask how it has helped or hurt you? i myself definately work with youth now to be a mentor, teacher etc. To be someone they can trust and come to about anything. It is hard to believe "I" use to be the kind of person i am writing about. Praise God, Thank You Jesus for changing me from that useless life. Thank You Lord for letting me see the hurt and how it affects everyone. This is it for now, thanks for reading. Just my thoughts. God Bless. Nash |
