Do you think people would understand better if they just knew that we never made a chioce to be like this?

Growing up, I was always told that gay people made a choice to be like that. That it is all just a choice. To be honest, that never clicked with me, even before I realized I was attracted to boys. But that is what everyone said, so I believed it. And when ever the conversation about gay people or lesbians or whatever comes up between me and my friends (or anyone for that matter), everyone always says, "They make a choice." I have actually said that I disagree to that, and continued to try and prove my point. But I dont think I even change anyones mind.

So, would people be.. um.. more accepting if they just realized and believed that we never made a choice to be the way we are?
