Under that rule, any web page that contains more than fair-use or properly-licensed quotes from any other web site is automatically illegal to link to from CBLF.

The irony is that with rare exceptions (such as the case I mentioned elsewhere) merely linking to a site that hosts illegally-copied material is not itself a violation of any law, criminal or civil.

I urge you to rethink this policy to only include cases where the violations are blatant (e.g. a link to a YouTube post that's clearly copyrighted and presumed to be used without permission) or when such a link, on balance, makes CBLF look like poor representatives of Christ.

A link to a personal web page that, mixed in with other content, happens to have the copyrighted lyrics to "Happy Birthday To You," with no indication that it is used by permission, should not be verboten to link to from CBLF. It's not illegal, and it doesn't interfere with our mission to be Christ's representatives on Earth.

On the other hand, a link to a web page called "Lyrics to Happy Birthday" that doesn't include the phrase "used by permission" is probably a blatant violation and I can see you banning it.
