So there's nothing that can be said to this person to make them feel any better about the situation? "You've been raped" isn't necessarily the most comforting thing.
"If he had been in a non-abusive relationship at 14 (whether his partner was 14 or 44), then had regrets and he convinced himself he'd been abused, that would be a different situation requiring a different approach to healing. In that case I'd recommend a therapist to help him accept what actually happened and get beyond any guilt. Likewise, if someone ELSE convinced him he'd been abused, that would also require therapy, but this time to undo the damage done by whoever convinced him to believe in a lie." Convinced himself he was abused? How does one go about convincing themselves they've been abused, manipulated, used? Please explain that to me. Because let me tell you something, when you come to the realization that you were USED for someone elses "pleasure", you don't have to convince yourself of a damn thing. And how will someone else convince the boy that he's been abused if he didn't feel that way (even just a little) already? |
