Pedophilia, at least in the United States, deals with prepubescent children. So says The American Psychiatric Association. Note that this is a clinical diagnosis, used for medical insurance billing and other purposes. In most states the term "pedophilia" or "pedophile" is not used in criminal statutes. Criminal statutes usually refer to actual behavior, not mental state.

I think today's topic deals with all children and adolescents who are "too young to have sex with much-older men." There's no universally agreed term for that but pedophilia is taken.

The gay community has adopted the term "ephebophilia" to refer to gay men who are sexually attracted to adolescents. I think today's topic is about both pedophiles and ephebophiles together. Another term in use is "minor attracted adults" which can either mean people who are not old enough to be legal adults and vote and own and manage property, or people who are too young to consent to sex. The age for legal adulthood is usually higher than the age to consent to sex. Since young people can become emancipated and older people can have guardians appointed for them, the term "minor attracted" does not mean "legally a minor" nor is it arbitrary in its age cutoff - many self-described "minor attracted adults" find they are attracted to youthful looks and attitudes even if the person is older than he looks and acts. Also, what is "youthful looking" or "youthful attitudes" to one person may not be to another.
