Well, I would certainly start by saying that orientation is an aspect of personhood.
Personlity traits are almost exactly 50/50 nature/nurture while psychoses can range anywhere from 100/0 to 0/100 an there are a host of other aspects of the mind ('natural' talents, favorite colors, food tastes, etc.) that have different ranges of nature/nurture balances in their formation, and the debate on just where sexual orientation lies in that scale, and likewise the debate on 'paraphilias' like ours, has raged for nearly a century, and there is no end in sight. It is clear that if orientation is ever classified as one type or another of 'aspects of personhood' (my term), that is lies very much in a fuzzy areaat the edge of benign personality traits, life ruining psychoses, and disconnected social preferences, but not clearly within any.
