Don't forget, no matter how well he took care of the boys, he turned their parents' lives up-side down.

Same goes for kidnapping a baby:
If you kidnap a sleeping baby, don't wake him up, and return him a few hours later, you've done the baby no harm.

But you've put an emotional steak knife through the parent's hearts.


BTW, this is also one reason child molestation, particularly molestation outside the family, is punished so severely: it is viewed not just as an offense against a child, but an offense against those responsible for that child's upbringing.
