Good question pitir... but where to start?

First I have read two books I really liked on this subject. "Raising a Modern Day Knight" by Steve Lewis and "Wild at Heart" by David Eldridge (sorry Blackstone... I know you don't like that one).

I think they make some great points about masculinity myself.

In my own refelctions I see masculintiy as a social thing.

God made males agressive... and playful... and curious...
we want to explore and lead and help and inspire and teach...
we want to be part of a community... part of a family.

so the whole growing up journey is a reflection of this... the boy learning to be the man he will become... studing his mentors and his men... immitating them... playing at being them... so that he may become one of them... and do it better... (the boy always wants to do it better).

From late adolencene he's full of ideals and these mesh with experience and maturity so that as he enters his 30s he's found his place in the world and is able to start doing his thing.

By the time he's in his 50s he doing the grandpa thing and helping his own kids raise their sons and daughters.

By his 60s he's the head of a community that has largely come from his own loins and has blended with other families (throught marriage) to become a very dynamic community of people.

In his senior years if he can look back and know that he has worked honest work with his own hands, that he has loved his wife and kids with a faithful heart, been a good friend and mate to his companions, served his community and cared for his own... and served His God in doing so... he'll be a fulfilled man.

Well that's the best I got for you
Cat.
