I agree that we blers often read more into things that aren't really there, when it comes to boys. I know that I do, anyway. For instance, watching a boy eat an ice cream cone can be very erotic to me, though in my logical mind I know that the boy means nothing by it. All he is trying to do is eat the damn cone. Same thing goes for casual touching. Many adults (including me) seem to have developed an aversion to touching, except romantically. (I'm not talking about hugging here) Boys haven't got the same hang ups as some of us adults do. They don't pull back if we casually touch them and don't take special pains to keep from touching us. That can be misconstrued into us thinking they are flirting.

I'm not saying that no boy ever does this intentionally. But I truly believe that most of the time it is quite innocent. And most of the time if they do respond in a way that we might consider flirting, it's often because they have picked up on the signals we are sending and they respond in a way they know we would like them to respond. I have found this to be true in my own relationships with YFs in the past.

Many boys have a deep need for love and attention. When we give them that love and attention, they will often do just about anything to keep us loving them. It's a serious responsibility as BLers for us not to abuse this.
