Hi Delieverance,
Yes that was a Christmas to remember. His mom was in total shock at what I did and she kept telling me that she would help pay for some of the gifts. I just told her not to worry about it and use the money to get her bills together. You know I did it because I loved "L" so much and couldn't stand the idea of him not having a good Christmas. I might have went a little overboard, but once you get your heart in gear it's sometimes hard to stop. He meant the world to me. It sounds like your "sorta" YF means the world to you, too. It must be hard not seeing him more than maybe once every three months or hearing from him in spans of weeks at a time. I had a hard time being away from "L" for even a week, let alone three months. But if he gave you a Christmas orange, a most wonderful present, then I'm sure the two of you have a great relationship. He loves you very much. Because it's not the size or cost of the gift but the love that went into it that makes it valuable. In case your interested, I did a little research and found an interesting website about preserving fruits and vegetables. It's at, www.pickyourown.org . I didn't get a lot of time to look around in there but you might find some way to be able to safely keep your orange forever. Thank you for sharing about your YF, brother. I love reading about that. I believe that any boy who has an older friend who loves him as much as we love boys is very fortunate. I'm glad you had the opportunity to be with him this Christmas. God Bless! With Love, Chris |
