The article was like other "my first child is growing up too fast" articles I've seen before. Nothing new.

There's no point in raising pedophilia in any comments to an article like this, unless someone else raises the issue first. It would be disruptive and "derailing" and inconsiderate. It would make people think about a topic most people would rather not think about and which upsets most people. Now, that's not grounds to never raise the issue (it needs to be raised), it's just grounds to be sensitive and choose carefully when and where to raise the issue. Derailing a discussion of a mom-and-apple-pie article like this could be seen as inconsiderate or rude no matter how well you sugar-coated it.
