In order to better comply with domestic and international law, we have taken the step of purging the sigpics of any content that may be copyrighted. Using images that you do not own or that are not in the public domain is illegal and will no longer be allowed on this forum. Any still image captured from a movie or from a website is most likely copyrighted. When in doubt, the sigpic was deleted just in case.

If you know that your sigpic was legal and wish us to reconsider it, let us know. Likewise, if you have a sigpic that you know you do not have the right to use and we missed it, let us know as well. But please keep in mind that we are (probably) not lawyers and aren't willing to make guesses about whether your artistic endeavors go far enough to constitute a derivative work or not.

We have decided on the following rules for future sigpics:

1. No erotic imagery
2. You must own the copyright to the image or the image must be in the public domain.

I know that this unfortunately does away with a lot of the best sigpics we had. But it's important to keep everything legal, specially in the current climate.
