Eastern Orthodoxy offers the idea of a life of repentence; that is, we ned to work on what isn't Godly within us every day. Of course, the idea of being rid of sexual attraction to boys is frightening if God were todo it all at once. But, through the praxeis (prayer, worship, meditation, fasting, almsgiving), such the desire for even the sexcual attraction without acting on it can be decreased until the idea of the Holy Trinity taking it away from us altogether will not be grightening.
Orthodoxy considers this a form of idolatrry, even when we do no action to satisfy the urge. The idea that God may take it from us all at once being frightening means we need to give the "eros" up gradually without losing the "agape." I think that's why most of us who come here are after. |
