I notice for Christians struggling with issues of sexuality outside of the hetrosexual monogamy that our faith requires that we eventually come to a crisis point.
We seek change, thourgh healing, prayer or our own efforts to modify our behaviour and when they eventually and inevitably fail we are left with 3 options. 1. We conclude that God has rejected us. Then we inturn either reject ourselves (potentially leading to self-destructive behaviour) or we reject God. 2. We conclude that God has accepted us as we are and WANTS us to be this way and that it's OK to be this way. So we choose to actively live the lifestyle our sexuality desires. 3. We conclude that whilst not ideal, God hasn't changed us so this is where He WANTS us and we have to live with our sexuality in a very controlled way. So we accept our feelings and desires and try not to act on them in ways outside of our faith. I am in option 3 at the moment. But my point is that no matter which path we take.... Life for us as Christians with alternative sexuality is going to be VERY difficult. Blessings Cat. ![]() |
