This is not me the admin speaking, I might someday make a nick for needing to make admin notices, but me being concerned about my people here. I would always suggest you start contacting people via email before any messaging programs. I assume you do not email with pitir because you ask here, not that way. I use some messenger programs to talk to fellow BLs but it is always after talking to them with through email for at least a few months first. Most of these messenger programs are not secure though there are a few that are like icq and hushmail messenger. That means if someone you are talking to has ill intentions towards BLs you could be in massive trouble. Even if you do nothing illegal he/she could still ruin your life. This is not over paranoia it could really happen, we have many enemies who try things like this.

I hope you don't take this personally. I don't know you well and would say the same thing if someone asked anyone for their msn on the board who is still new. I'd be even more concerned if you posted your msn here instead of sending it to him through email because then you would be giving it to the world to see on this board and anyone could get your info that way. One of the most basic precaustions one can take is using an email address that does not give your ip address away to people you email. Some good ones for that are fastmail.fm and hushmail.com I know there are a few more if you look.

My suggestion would be for one of you to post your secure email address here and ask the other to email you. Just make sure you email back and forth for a bit before you get too personal. Anyone could email you and say they are marc/pitir. Having friends who are also BLs is a great thing but you need to be careful especially at first.
