Like newgeorge, I find this very interesting, too.

I have for a long time considered my BL attractions (and homosexual attractions for that matter) to be a form of emotional immaturity -- that, somehow, my emotional and sexual development got stunted somewhere in youth, and I'm still trying to find a way to move forward. That I have the attractions I do does not surprise me at all.
