Toy Story 3

Hi guys,

I went to see "Toy Story 3" today, and ... wow! Pixar always sets an extremely high standard with their movies, and this is no exception. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best.

But, it's more than just an entertaining movie ... for me at least, and possibly also for other BLs out there. I was deeply moved! So much so that I barely managed to make it through the movie without crying (though I did tear up a little). But, when I got home, the floodgates opened (and I'm still going through tissues as I write this).

The premise of the movie is basically this: Andy (the boy from the earlier movies) is growing up and getting ready to go off to college, and his ever-loyal toys (Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang) have to start facing the fact that he doesn't need them anymore. Though he may still have affection in his heart for them, he is moving on, and the happy memories of the past will be just that ... memories.

As a BL with a YF, this really tore me up inside. I have known my YF for about a year now, and he means the world to me! But I know that, in just a few short years, he, too, will be moving on with his life, and will likely not need to spend time with me much anymore. Because I love him, and what what's best for him, I will put on a brave face, bless him for whatever the future holds, and then step aside to let him live out the destiny God has for him ... all the while hoping that he takes with him some wisdom and happy memories from the times we had together.

I know it's the way it has to be, but I also know it's going to hurt like hell.

All this from a movie. Thanks a lot, Toy Story 3 ;-)

Well, anyway, I highly recommend it!

Blessings,
Rainboy
