It happens to everyone. My YF's parents both like me but there are still times that I get on their nerves, and all I can do is apologize and move on. Eventually it gets better again. Trust has to be rebuilt over time.

So his step-father doesn't like you. I can't speak from experience on this, maybe someone else can help. Do you know why he doesn't like you? If it's possible, making friends with him would be the best route.

Next time it would be a good idea to set the expectations before going out - agree on what time you'll be back, and make sure there's a way for them to contact you.
