You know, after I watched the movie I went on to watch the special features which had how the movie was made (which I always love). They had to search for a while to find three boys to play the role of Vitus. One was about one or two years old, one was 6, and the oldest was 11 going on 12. Not only did they have to find boys that looked convincingly alike, they also had to find boys (the two oldest ones) who could play piano really weel, especially the 12 year old. PLUS the boys had to be able to act. The boys that they found had little or no acting experience outside of this movie, which made it even more amazing. So yes it does seem like they built the story around the boys, especially the 12 year old, but I think it is more a case of brilliant directing. It takes a very special director to be able to work with kids so well to bring out every ounce of acting talent in that child. This director did just that. Wait till you see the movie, you will be just floored. I hope you get to see it soon and when you do, let me know what you think.

Chris
