Intent and fast food

Involving the word 'intent' makes the definition of exactly what 'porn' is a problem of incalculable proportions because it means that the highlight comes off the porn-material itself and onto the one who is looking at it.

I agree, newgeorge! We need to focus on the material itself to determine whether or not it is pornographic, because if you focus on intent, ANYTHING can become "porn".

Here's an example:

I must admit that I find it very difficult to dredge up even the slightest goodwill towards this woman. Her goal is to become the worlds fattest (woman) at 1000lb. Not only that, she makes money by running a website in which men pay to watch her eat fast food. So, what do you think? Is she selling porn? Men obviously get off watching her eat, so the "intent" is there. And yet ... she's just eating food. [I HOPE no genitals are involved!] And, if we conclude this is porn, what if we take it further? I'm sure there are people out there who get off on watching McDonald's commercials (for similar reasons). Do we label that as porn, too? [And what if those commercials feature children?!?! {shudder}]

Blessings,
Rainboy
