In reply to God decides what is harmful posted by Unique on 2010-02-12 03:35:20, Friday

"Am I wrong to hate these type of people and is my hatred in fact more valid then those who hate me?

I think the answers to these two questions are:
Yes, it is wrong to hate these types of people.
and
No, you hatred is no more valid (nor acceptable) than those who hate you.

I totally agree with you that sexing a boy is wrong; whether it is harmful or not, or consensual or not, is irrelevant to me. In my view, consensual man/boy sex... even if it was BENEFICIAL to the child (made him feel loved and happy for instance)... would still be unholy and therefore wrong.

I hold to the ideal of the golden rule as you do. I believe, however, that we all come short of it ... it's just a matter of subjective degrees. As much as I wish I never did harm to others... I know that my life is littered with times where I've hurt people quite significantly and not just from neglect or good intentions gone wroing... sometimes from pure selfishness on my part. Sad but true. And I believe we are all the same.

I think we need to be very patient and understanding of all sinners... remembering that we were once in darkness too. As Titus 3 teaches us:
"1Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone."

It is possible to say on one hand that sexing your own kid and taking pics and posting them on the net is a dispicable sin... AND... but I too am a sinner saved only by the love, mercy and grace of God, on the other.
I can value someone's humanity and pay them respect in that regard without condoning their sin or mine.

The grace that saves me is available to this guy as much as it is to me and the message to both of us is the same:
"Repent!"
and
"Fear God and keep His commandments."

Blessings
Cat.
