like other people said here, it depends on everything.

I was never 'formally' invited to my YFs house. At the beginning he would just convince me it was ok to cross the door, and once inside I'd greet the parent(s) and we'd go about our business. But it was always him dragging me along to whatever activity.

Eventually, after about 8 months, whenever I knocked at their door they'd tell me to come in, and direct me to his room or wherever he was in the house at that moment.

We were next-door neighbors, though. That might've influenced things differently.
