I also have an imaginary that swears alot and is often very angry.

Psychologially this would be labeled our "hurt child" ego state. The amagdala is part of the brain that controls our fear, anger and agression... sometimes it's calm at other times its a raging storm.

I think about the Scripture that says, "be angry but don't sin" (Eph 4:26) and I think that its part of God's design for me that I feel these feelings and even express them... but to do so in a loving and respectful manner.

So when this angry imaginary says to me things like, "I hate you Cat your suck an effen bastard!" I try and encourage him to be more specific about what he's hurt or afraid or angry about and he will rephrase to something like, "I'm so upset that you didn't stand up for yourself when so and so said that thing to you".

He and I fight often and this was largely because I had a hard time accepting him. Now that I do... he'll swear in his prayers even... things are very peaceful between us and he really helps me to have energy to confront things that are hurting me. I'm sure it was this ego state that drove Jesus to make that whip and drive the money changers out of the temple.

So I think it's perfectly Christian and certainly not embarrassing to me.... weird.... well maybe, hehe.

Love you Chris,
Blessings
Cat.
